Festival Bags

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it” – my all-time favourite quote from Ferris Bueller.

So on that note, I thought I better get into the festival spirit before I blink and it’s all over!

There are two essentials for a festival bag. It absolutely must be secure, for when you’re too close for comfort with a bunch of festival goers who are high on life and God knows what else, and you definitely cannot mind it getting a little mud and beer on it!

My personal opinion would be that you don’t want to be left holding anything, or even thinking about anything else, so a cross body bag or a belt bag (bum bag) would be a wise choice, leaving your arms as free as the wind! Here are a few of my favourites on sale now.

Above: F&F Clothing, Ikat Mini Beaded Cross Body Bag, only £10. Great festival look, perfect for matching with crochet or just a plain tee and shorts to add detail.

Above: Oasis Jemima Satchel, was £25 but now only £18 in the sale. Secure and big enough for your rain mac!

Above: Oasis Canvas Cross Body Bag, £28 and I think well worth it! I love this bag, the gold with the tan colour is so attractive and having two zipped pockets inside would be so handy to separate your valuables. Very tempted to buy this myself!

Above: Oasis (sorry for plugging Oasis so much but they always have so many gorgeous bags!) Celeste Leather Foldover Bag, £40. Very secure again, and a great pop of colour but in-keeping with the browns and neutral tones that come with festival outfits.

Above: Missguided Tuple Cross Body Zip Saddle Bag, £14.99. Black's a safe colour, goes with almost everything, and this comes complete with a tassel to compliment your festival look. And for this price, you can't go wrong!

Above: I love this ASOS Scallop Detail Bum Bag, £18 but currently out of stock, sadly, or I'd have snapped one up! Perfect colour and detail, plus with this guarding all your belongings, you're completely free to jump around like a crazy person! Keeping my eyes peeled on ASOS for when it's back.

I’m heading to V Festival in a few weeks so check back for my top festival outfits. I've got so many bags but I still manage to find a particular size, style, or colour that I don't already own. My brown leather Oasis bag (review blog here) works well, but it's leather so I'd be worried about a clumsy pint drenching it! Must buy another :P

Enjoy wherever you’re going, share your festival #ootd pics, and never forget to stop and look around once in a while…

Oasis Clove Leather Cross Body Bag

I wasn't actually looking for another bag when I saw this one, but I decided that it would be perfect to take to Milan with me as I don't have a brown bag with as much space inside and as secure as this (I'm lying, of course I have!).

The leather smells yummy and the quality is obviously good, with different imperfections on each bag that was on display. The colour is what I'd call proper brown leather, suitable for daytime with a casual festival look, or for an evening outfit like a black maxi or a lighter shirt and jeans ensemble. The leather gives it that slightly higher class look than an average brown bag, giving it the excuse to be used with a more formal outfit.

The adjustable strap extends enough to be worn across the body for when you're struggling with all your shopping bags, but it also looks just fine sat over one shoulder or as a clutch if you want to remove the strap all together.

The top closes with a magnetic fastening, which, when opened, gives you easy access to a good-sized, open pocket that's the full width of the bag. There's a zip with a cute leather tassel across the top of the main section, which has loads of space, a phone pocket and a zipped pocket inside.

There is a surprising amount of room and the open outside pocket is perfect for chucking in bits like a mirror or lipstick for easy access. Plus with the folded over, zipped section, its perfect for taking somewhere you're unsure of - nobody's getting in there in a hurry!

Being leather, it'll last you ages and be like that bag your Mum still has from when you were a kid! It's well worth the £40, and you can get your very own here.

As always, if you've found this useful, please leave a comment :)

Oasis White Sara Minimal Metal Bar Satchel

I visited Milan for the second time last weekend so I knew how much walking I was letting myself in for, and with walking of course comes sitting in cafes and window shopping. So I knew I’d need my usual ‘city break bag’ with me and I chose two, both from Oasis.

One was the brown leather number (stay tuned for the review blog coming very soon) that slotted into my ‘if you’re still thinking about it the day after then get it’ motto, which I figured would be perfect for day or evening. And the second was this white, across the body bag, which was cleverly placed opposite the entrance to the fitting rooms in my local Outfit store and sneakily caught my attention.

The white is clean and crisp, made even more so by the black line details and the shiny metal bar along the front. The strap is adjustable and long enough when opened fully to sit easily across the body, or perfect for perching on your shoulder. The handle on top makes it nice and easy to hold without the strap but I wouldn't recommend that in a busy city!
Inside you've got two pockets for your phone and mirror for when you need to make sure you’re still looking Milan-worthy, and there’s a zipped pocket also to make sure you don’t lose your room key. There’s also a zipped pocket on the outside at the back of the bag, which I found useful for quickly popping the metro or sight-seeing tickets away safely. The size is good, fitting in my abnormally large compact camera, brush, purse, sunnies, phone and map nicely.

I’d thoroughly recommend this striking bag and I think you’ll find it’s a must-have for a summer city break as the bright white lifts any outfit and can be matched with so many of your usual summer day or night combinations.

I think it’s a bargain for an Oasis bag at only £25, and you can buy yours here.
